Personally, I would prefer if everyone stopped trying to police
everyone else, but as that seems to be a minority reaction, I suggest the
attempt to connect.

I agree with you in spirit Nancy, if not in practice.
I am fresh from managing a list that was viciously trolled,
to the extent that the list became a farce. I managed, but
did not own the list, and the owner for some reason totally
beyond me, wouldn't let me kick the fellows off so now
what's left of the list is a farce, with one troll
espousing absolutely nutcase stuff, and the other blasting
anyone who is ON TOPIC (ie discussing material that is directly
concerned with what the list is all about) for being behind
the times. Apparently the nutcase is now managing the list.
On the other hand, I blong to the Arthur list which is com-
pletely moderated. Every post is vetted by the manager/owner,
and is is one of the busiest lists I've ever been on.
There ae things to be said for benevolent monarchy.
