You give this graduate student hope that there may be money to be made in
writing about poetry. Maybe "amateur," in its first English sense, "lover," can
be applied to all of us.
A common theme in the off-list posts I have received through the years, is
"my post was ignored." But you shouldn't feel this way this week. Though I may
have deleted some of the responses and may have moved some of them to other
folders, I quickly count 23 posts (including your follow-ups) by 9 different
people to your original post. A pretty good showing, I'd say. And a bonus --
not all were negative.
It is sometimes the case that benefits and liabilities of a given matter
reside in the same properties. The great number of items of interest that you
bring forth in your posts means that the responses may take-up unexpected
points. Shorter posts may allow more focus. Who knows?
We all know different things. A great advantage, I'd say. I hope you'll
continue to say what you know and think.
Selfishly, my final words are of gratitude for your gracious letting me off
the hook of embarrassment.
