Another group of alternatives to the Victorian rhetorical poetry and =
also to Modernism are the Georgians such as Rupert Brooke, Lascelles =
Abercombie and sometimes D. H. Lawrence. The Georgians wrote a bit of =
War poetry. Whether they had any Jewish members I do not know, however, =
Rosenburg reads very much like a Georgian. The principle anthology =
would be "Georgian Poetry" edited by Edward Marsh.=20

There is more to English War poetry than Brooke's Flanders. =
Next=20
time you're near a library or bookstore, look for _The Penguin =
Book of=20
First World War Poetry_ edited, with a fine intro, by Jon =
SIlkin. It=20
actually contains more than WWI English poets, though they are =
the=20

Rosenberg gets, just looking quickly at the TOC, the most, or =

the most, poems. (Wilfred Owen may get one more.) Edward =

Marcia, thanks for the suggestion. Yes, Sassoon I like. Gurney I =
