I can''t agree. Not a breakdown of love. People still love in the
Wasteland, in an indifferent, impotent way. Like - who cares what you do or
where you go, but be careful driving - is more the attiitude. It's more an
absence of passion; not just romantic/sexual but all passion for life.

As for the homosexuality inference, I still say that it would be extremely
rare for a homosexual man to marry twice, and by all accounts, he was
extremely enchanted with Viv for a time and very contented with Val during
