Rick, I hope you didn't think that I was trying to catch you on the
quote. I remember having read it much the way. Anyway, I tried to
find the quote but I have to stop with these as searching for
Jefferson and Revolution brings one to many places without the quote.

Jefferson said: "The Revolution of 1800 was as real a revolution in
the principles of our government as that of 1776 was in its form."
This also shows that Jefferson, in calling for a revolution every
generation, meant by "revolution" fundamental structural
transformation, not violent overthrow.
P.S. - I was told that Congressman Moakley's funeral procession, with
Bush in tow, went down Boston's Southeast expressway at rush hour. I
think that this is the most congested highway in New England. Clinton
and Gore and the Pope and you name 'em also have messed things up.
