Yes it is - very credible. Thanks for sharing. It's one of those things that
show how much Joyce and Eliot were on the same level; you can see this
culminate in The Waste Land on the one, and Ulysses on the other, but each
have several examples that lead up to these works. One of my favourites
there on Joyce's part is Dubliner's "Grace". If you haven't read it, do so
immediately - it's only about 30 small pages - and see for yourself if you
recognise a familiar pattern (this one was intended to be easier to catch
than Eliot's, you should have little trouble).
