Call for abstracts: The Litel Clergeon Society invites medieval scholars of all walks of life to submit abstracts for 2 sessions at the 53rd International Congress on Medieval Studies from May 10-13, 2018, at Western Michigan University.
The first panel, Teaching the Middle Ages to All Ages, will explore best practices for successfully incorporating medieval literature and culture content into a variety of instructed settings and courses. The second panel, Secondary School as a Second Career, is a roundtable discussion on the job market that will address whether and how to make the transition to secondary school teaching. These sessions look to engage teacher-scholars from both secondary and postsecondary schools about topics including secondary school teaching as an option for Ph.D. holders, successful teaching practices, curricular articulation, and how to get and keep students at all levels interested in medieval texts.
Please submit abstracts to Kristin Cole ([log in to unmask]) and Deva Kemmis ([log in to unmask]) by September 1, 2017.
