Popular Culture Association / American Culture Association Annual Meeting
Atlanta, Georgia, April 12-15, 2006.
“Gender Trouble in German/auf Deutsch.”
Papers are sought that deal with German, Swiss and Austrian inflections and
representations of Butler’s gender troubles. What troubles does German have, can
German-speakers make of gender, and how are parallel issues of race, class and
disability impacted by such debates? Papers from areas as wide-ranging as film
(Monika Treut’s films) and detective fiction (Gabriele Gelien’s detective
novels) are welcome.
Please send 150-200 word abstracts and a brief CV by the deadline of November 1,
2005.
Electronic submissions are welcome and preferred.
